The latest viral craze to hit African social media is the #BidoungChallenge.
Sparked by Cameroon’s Minister of Sports and Physical Education Pierre Ismael Bidoung Mpkatt graciously bowing to President Paul Biya and his wife during a recent reception at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations at the Unity Palace in Cameroon, it has led to a flood of copycats posting their own versions of bowing in weird and outrageous ways.
It first started with Cameroonians posting with the hashtag #CourberDosChallenge, but quickly spread to the rest of the continent under the hashtag #BidoungChallenge.
