In a new solo show at Cape Town’s Brutal Gallery, artist Amy-Leigh Braaf (aka Hakopike) is displaying vivid paintings meant to evoke her ancestral past. A mixed race woman with ancestry in Indonesia and South Africa, her latest works were created based on dreams she experienced while traveling in South East Asia during a recent artist residency.
