Zimbabwe is looking for investors to help finance an ambitious $200 million satellite project aimed at strengthening the country’s telecommunications and digital infrastructure. Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube said the government is actively seeking partners to support the initiative, which is expected to significantly improve national connectivity. The project builds on Zimbabwe’s recent progress in space technology, following the launch of its first mini satellite in 2022 and another in 2024. The project comes as the government targets a minimum 6% annual economic growth rate, though the IMF projects a more modest 4.6% expansion this year. For a country determined to modernize its digital infrastructure, this satellite could be a game-changing investment.
