A Platform Dedicated to Championing Visual Artists and Promoting African Art Globally

Founded by Gbenro Adeyemo in 2021, OMENAI provides a space for both emerging and established artists to showcase their work, aiming to address the lack of visibility for African contemporary art within the mainstream global discourse. In launching OMENAI, Adeyemo told Disrupt Africa he had merged his passion for art with his background in technology. The startup has secured some venture funding, and has seen what Adeyemo says is “positive uptake” from art collectors, enthusiasts, and individuals interested in African culture and art.  Launching OMENAI has not been without its challenges, including navigating the complexities of the art market, building relationships with artists and collectors, and establishing a digital platform that resonates with its target audience.
