Africa’s Airports to Get a Green Makeover

A challenge has been launched for global innovators to develop solutions that curb carbon emissions at regional airports in Africa. The aim is for emissions to be reduced by 20% through optimizing aircraft turnaround times. The challenge is aimed at achieving a one-fifth reduction in CO2 emissions. It also targets wasted resources caused by using auxiliary power units when the aircraft is not in motion and serviced between flights.
