Cape Town’s La Colombe has returned to the world’s 50 best restaurants, rising 20 places to number 35 in the 2026 rankings. The achievement makes it Africa’s highest-ranked restaurant and marks a recovery after it placed 55th on the extended list in 2025. Located on Silvermist Wine Estate in Constantia, the kitchen combines modern French methods with South African ingredients and Asian influences. It was one of three Cape Town restaurants featured on the list, although the other two did not make the top 50. FYN climbed 17 places to number 65, while Salsify at the Roundhouse rose to number 71. Spain’s Asador Etxebarri took first place, ahead of Bangkok’s Gaggan and Copenhagen’s Alchemist.
