Inaugural Congo Tech Expo To Bring Congolese Innovation To New York During UN General Assembly Week

By SG Editor·

New one-day event will spotlight the innovation, entrepreneurship, and creativity of the Democratic Republic of Congo and its global diaspora

The Congo Tech Expo, an international initiative celebrating the innovation, entrepreneurship, and creativity emerging from the Democratic Republic of Congo and its global diaspora, will host its inaugural event in New York City on September 23, 2026, during the week of the United Nations General Assembly.

The event will bring together startups, technology companies, investors, policymakers, and industry leaders for a day dedicated to Congolese innovation, featuring startup exhibitions and a technology pitch competition. Additional program details will be announced in the coming weeks.

“The Congo Tech Expo was created to position Congolese innovation on the global stage and contribute to a broader, more balanced narrative of our country,” said Dr. Adam Heritier Shebindu, co-founder of the Congo Tech Expo. “By bringing together startups, technology companies, investors, policymakers, and industry leaders in New York during UNGA week, we’re creating a platform where Congolese entrepreneurship can connect with the international partners and investors who can help it grow.”

The Expo is designed to serve founders, investors, students, policymakers, and business leaders with a stake in the future of Congolese innovation, and to strengthen ties between the Democratic Republic of Congo and its diaspora community worldwide.
