The African Development Bank (AfDB) is partnering with Germany to accelerate energy access and bolster private sector growth across Africa. Announced at a high-level meeting in Abidjan, the partnership will expand support for Mission 300, a project aiming to deliver electricity to 300 million Africans by 2030, and increase financing for private sector-led development in the energy sector. Additionally, the partnership will work to strengthen Africa’s private sector, focusing on youth entrepreneurship and skills development. To do this, Germany and the AfDB will increase funding for Youth Entrepreneurship Investment Banks. They will also bolster their cooperation on the Build 4 Skills program – an initiative that assists young people with career development through work-based training.
