Kenya’s Landfills Could Power Communities 

A feasibility analysis undertaken by the Italian oil company Eni Kenya BV concluded that establishing a biogas facility in Kenya was practical. Eni Kenya BV is now awaiting government authorization to develop the facility after submitting its proposal. Eni formerly known as Agip intends to turn dumpsites across the country which have become an environmental hazard and an eyesore into a source of energy for households. These dumpsites are spread across the country, the most notable of which is found in the capital city of Nairobi popularly known as the Dandora dumpsite.
