Egypt’s plan to restore the Menkaure Pyramid at Giza using granite cladding has ignited controversy among archaeologists and conservationists. The project, led by the Supreme Council of Antiquities, aims to reapply granite blocks to the pyramid’s exterior, some of which are unpolished and believed to be leftover from construction.
