Historic Franschhoek Winery Strengthens Reputation With Top Honors

South African wine producer Boschendal has strengthened its reputation as one of the country’s leading wineries with a string of major awards in 2026. At the Trophy Wine Show 2026, the estate won three trophies from a field of 655 entries, earning recognition for its red blends, white blends, and museum-class wines. Additional accolades followed at the International Wine Challenge in London and the Mundus Vini competition, while several wines received top ratings in Platter’s guide. Cellarmaster Jacques Viljoen said the honors reflect years of careful decision-making, patience, and respect for the vineyard rather than the success of a single vintage. With a winemaking history spanning more than 340 years, Boschendal’s consistent performance across multiple wine styles suggests 2026 could become one of its most successful years on record.
