Malian company NDC Energie has acquired approximately 80 former TotalEnergies service stations in Mali, completing the French giant’s full withdrawal from the country after more than 25 years. The stations had briefly passed to Coly Energy Mali in 2025 before NDC assumed full ownership in January 2026. TotalEnergies cited escalating geopolitical tensions with Mali’s military government, fiscal pressures, and social conflicts as reasons for its exit—a retreat mirrored in Burkina Faso, where it sold around 170 stations in 2025. For NDC Energie, formerly a fuel importer, the acquisition is transformational, turning it into a vertically integrated operator controlling everything from importation to retail.
