Chidimma Adetshina, the runner-up in the recent Miss Universe pageant, plans to relocate to Nigeria following a nationality dispute in South Africa. The 23-year-old law student, who represented Nigeria, faced scrutiny over her citizenship when her mother was accused of using a stolen South African identity. This led Adetshina to withdraw from the Miss South Africa competition in August, citing safety concerns. Despite the controversy, she won the Miss Universe Nigeria title and placed second in the global competition. Adetshina, born in Soweto to a Nigerian father, expressed no ill will toward South Africa but is uncertain about her future there. She hopes to resolve her legal issues and continue her law studies while using her Miss Universe platform to foster unity between Nigeria, South Africa, and the African continent.
