According to Spotify’s latest Loud & Clear report, Nigerian artists earned a staggering $40 million in royalties in 2025 alone, marking a 140% revenue surge over just two years. The country’s music soared to 30.3 billion streams and 1.6 billion listening hours. First-time listeners discovered Nigerian tracks more than 1.3 billion times—a 26% jump from 2024—while Nigerian music appeared in nearly 320 million user-generated playlists worldwide. From independent creators to female artists, the entire ecosystem is flourishing, with independent labels accounting for 58% of all royalties paid. The data underscores Nigeria’s growing influence in shaping global music trends and digital streaming culture.
