NNPC Gas Marketing Limited (NGML), a subsidiary of Nigeria’s national oil company, has signed a 10-year Gas Sale and Purchase Agreement with Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals. The deal, finalized at Dangote Group’s headquarters in Lagos, ensures the daily supply of 100 million standard cubic feet (MMSCF/D) of natural gas. This includes a firm 50 MMSCF/D and an additional 50 MMSCF/D of interruptible gas, aimed at supporting power generation and serving as feedstock for the Dangote Refinery in Ibeju-Lekki. This agreement aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s policies to utilize Nigeria’s vast gas resources to drive industrial growth and economic development. The initiative is notable for having no capital expenditure (CAPEX) outlay, which is a first for the West African country.
