Designed for speed and convenience, the new system allows tourists to apply via smartphone and receive instant approvals, eliminating paperwork, fraud, and border delays. Home Affairs Minister Leon Schreiber demonstrated the platform in action to President Cyril Ramaphosa, calling it a major step toward a fully digital immigration system. While the eligible country list is pending, nations currently under the e-Visa system—such as Nigeria, India, and Russia—are likely to be included. The ETA promises to expand beyond tourism, eventually covering all visa categories for a seamless, fraud-resistant experience.
