Sudan and Iran Deepen Alliance with New Trade and Diplomacy Accord

Khartoum and Tehran, represented by their foreign ministers, have agreed to bolster their country’s collaboration in trade, diplomacy, and reconstruction. Both countries plan to convene a ministerial committee in the coming months, as well as host a business forum comprising companies and investors from Sudan and Iran, to set their plan in motion. Beyond these, Iran is expected to play an “active role” in rebuilding Sudan following the ongoing conflict between the army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). The ministers also signed a memorandum of understanding for mutual visa exemptions for those with official, diplomatic, or passports. Furthermore, they resolved to set up a political consultation committee to coordinate foreign policy efforts.
