CAF record revenue
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) says commercial revenue from the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco has surged by 90%, describing the tournament as the most commercially successful in its history. While CAF did not disclose exact figures, it attributed the jump to a broader sponsor base, expanded media rights, and a push into new markets—particularly in Asia. The tournament’s sponsor pool has grown steadily, rising from 9 partners in 2021 to 17 in 2023 and 23 for the 2025 edition in Morocco, reflecting both new global interest and strong retention of existing backers. CAF’s latest financial filings show $96 million in net contract revenues from the previous AFCON, with the Morocco edition projected to deliver $114 million in net profit, underscoring football’s growing financial clout across the continent.
