Symbol of national sovereignty and independence in Algeria.
Algeria has established a new network of parliamentary friendship groups with several Arab and African countries to strengthen diplomatic engagement and deepen legislative cooperation. Launched during a ceremony at the Council of the Nation, Algeria’s upper house of parliament, the initiative is intended to promote regular inter-parliamentary dialogue, facilitate the exchange of legislative expertise, and encourage collaboration on shared political, economic, and cultural priorities. Algerian officials said the friendship groups will also support regional integration by expanding parliamentary diplomacy and reinforcing institutional partnerships. The initiative reflects Algeria’s broader foreign policy objective of strengthening ties with neighboring African and Arab nations while fostering closer bilateral relationships. Authorities expect the groups to create new opportunities for sustained cooperation and enhance collaboration on issues affecting both regions.
