British Airways to Resume Flights to Tanzania

By Africanews·Edited by Editor TO·

British Airways is set to resume flights to Tanzania after a 13-year absence, reconnecting London with Kilimanjaro, one of East Africa’s major tourism gateways. The airline said it will operate three weekly services from London Gatwick to Kilimanjaro International Airport beginning in late May 2027. Flights will continue onward to Zanzibar, giving travelers access to both Tanzania’s renowned safari destinations and its Indian Ocean coast. The new service will be British Airways’ first connection to Tanzania since it ended its London-Dar es Salaam route 13 years ago. British Airways also plans to increase its services between London and Cape Town from March 2027, expanding its African network as the airline adds capacity on key leisure and tourism routes.
