Paramount Pictures has released the first official photos from its ongoing film adaptation of Tomi Adeyemi’s bestselling novel “Children of Blood and Bone,” offering a glimpse of the fictional kingdom of Orïsha and its star-studded cast. The images introduce key characters including ruthless royals played by Regina King and Chiwetel Ejiofor, a powerful priest portrayed by Idris Elba, and young lead Thuso Mbedu as Zélie. The story follows Zélie as she seeks to restore magic to her people and challenge the oppressive rule of King Saran. Rooted in West African mythology, the film blends a coming-of-age narrative with themes of oppression and rebellion, following its acclaimed source novel and its two sequels. The film is expected to be one of the most prominent fantasy releases when it debuts in January 2027.
