Chinese President Xi Jinping and Moroccan Crown Prince Moulay Hassan reaffirmed their commitment to deepening ties between China and Morocco during a brief meeting in Casablanca. The encounter, which followed Xi’s state visit to Brazil, took place at Casablanca’s airport, where Xi was greeted by Hassan and Morocco’s Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch. During the meeting, Xi emphasized Beijing’s readiness to strengthen its strategic partnership with Rabat, highlighting successful cooperation across various sectors since King Mohammed VI’s visit to China in 2016. He expressed Beijing’s intent to work closely with Rabat on implementing outcomes from the China-Africa and China-Arab cooperation forums, under the Belt and Road framework. In response, Hassan conveyed King Mohammed VI’s warm greetings and noted the positive momentum in bilateral relations, underscoring mutual support on issues of core national interest for both countries.
