Côte d’Ivoire produced approximately 2 million metric tons of natural rubber in 2025, up from about 1.8 million tons in 2024, according to the country’s natural rubber association. The result lifted the country to second place among global producers, from fourth in 2024, and keeps it Africa’s largest natural rubber exporter. The expansion has been supported by farmers switching some land from cocoa to rubber in pursuit of more predictable earnings. Producers also credited training in improved agricultural practices and stronger sector governance for the increase. Côte d’Ivoire has around 50 rubber-processing plants, with combined capacity exceeding current production. Industry managers expect output to rise gradually over the next five years as recently established plantations mature. The association expects output to remain broadly stable in 2026, with attention now shifting toward improving quality.
