Dangote Refinery became the world’s largest jet fuel exporter in April after disruptions linked to the Middle East conflict reshaped global aviation fuel supply routes. According to S&P Global Energy, the Nigerian refinery increased production under what executives described as “max jet mode,” allowing it to capitalize on shortages created by the conflict. The 650,000-barrel-per-day facility has now reached full operational capacity and is using flexible blending systems to boost gasoline and jet fuel yields. CEO David Bird said the refinery is evolving into a global merchant refining operation rather than focusing solely on the domestic market. The company is also pursuing long-term supply agreements and regional infrastructure projects across Africa.
