Dangote Refinery Targets US Listing Within Four Years

By Editor TO·

Nigerian entrepreneur Aliko Dangote is weighing a secondary US stock listing for his refinery within three to four years, following the launch of an initial public offering in Lagos. The offer aims to raise $1.6 billion and could increase the offering by up to 30% if demand exceeds the target. Dangote said an international listing would broaden ownership beyond Nigerian investors and potentially provide access to deeper pools of capital. He said the move could come as the plant doubles output to 1.4 million barrels daily by early 2029—enough to supply roughly 10% of US refining capacity. IPO proceeds will fund the expansion, which could make the refinery the largest in the world.
