Africa is often associated with sun-drenched landscapes, but several countries on the continent experience snowfall, defying the typical image of endless heat. From the Drakensberg Mountains in South Africa, where winter sports like sledging are enjoyed, to Morocco’s Atlas Mountains and the icy peaks of Mount Toubkal, snow is not an alien occurrence on the continent. Tanzania’s Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak, is also no stranger to snow, particularly during the dry season.
