Nigeria’s northeastern state of Adamawa has experienced a measles outbreak that resulted in the death of at least 42 people. According to the state’s health commissioner, the bulk of the outbreak occurred in two local government areas and affected over 200 people. He revealed the government had facilitated the release of vaccines to the affected areas and field teams under his ministry had been dispatched to halt the virus’ progress and contain the situation.
