Morocco Joins International Force Stabilizing Postwar Gaza

Morocco has signed an agreement to join the International Stabilization Force for Gaza, committing military officers, police personnel, and a field hospital to support humanitarian and security efforts once conditions permit. The agreement, finalized in Rabat with Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita and Gaza peace envoy Nickolay Mladenov, aligns with Morocco’s support for a two-state solution. Rabat’s decision to participate in the initiative grants it greater influence in the region and strengthens its standing with Western and Arab partners. Furthermore, it could enhance its reputation as a mediator capable of balancing security and humanitarian priorities. If the mission succeeds, it may contribute to rebuilding governance and stability in Gaza. However, its effectiveness will ultimately depend on broader political agreements and security conditions that remain uncertain.
