Nigeria has repatriated 1,926 citizens from South Africa since June following a series of xenophobic attacks, according to the country’s foreign ministry. The latest evacuation flight brought 105 Nigerians to Lagos, including 26 men, 29 women, and 50 children. The flight was the 14th consular evacuation from South Africa since the repatriation program began on June 10. Nigerian authorities said the process remains ongoing, with additional citizens undergoing verification and clearance before future flights. Abuja is also working with South African authorities to address xenophobic violence and has urged Nigerians living in the country to remain vigilant, comply with local laws, and maintain contact with Nigeria’s diplomatic mission in Pretoria for consular help.
