Nigeria’s state oil company, NNPC, reported an after-tax profit of about $5.43 billion for 2025, representing a 33% increase from the previous year. Crude oil and condensate output reached a five-year high of 1.77 million barrels per day at peak production, while gas supply climbed to a three-year high of 7.2 billion standard cubic feet per day. Pipeline security has also improved, although theft and vandalism still plague smaller pipelines and wellheads. Chief Executive Bayo Ojulari attributed the rise in profit to tighter operational discipline, improvements in efficiency, and continued investment in infrastructure and assets. However, revenue declined to roughly $26 billion, largely because of lower crude oil prices and weaker product sales after market deregulation.
