South Africa and Zimbabwe have launched a pilot tourist-only border crossing between Kruger National Park and Gonarezhou National Park, opening new doors for eco-adventure in the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Conservation Area. The seasonal route, accessible via the Sengwe-Tshipise Corridor, runs from May to November 2025 and operates twice a week for 4×4 vehicles. Travellers must pre-book, spend at least four nights across both countries, and comply with immigration protocols. Border checks will be conducted at Pafuri Gate and Zimbabwe’s designated entry point. Backed by Boundless Southern Africa, this initiative aims to boost regional tourism, protect shared ecosystems, and promote cross-border wilderness travel as a unified experience.
