African farmers collaborate and share knowledge to improve farming techniques and boost local agriculture.

In a triumph for South African wine, an all-women team from Le Grand Domaine in Stellenbosch has clinched the title of “Best International Cabernet Sauvignon” at the prestigious 2025 International Wine Challenge in London. Their winning vintage, La Grande Sélection 2022, stood out against wines from Bordeaux, Napa, and Australia. Judges praised it for its bold complexity and refined finish. Winemaker Debbie Thompson, who leads the vineyard alongside Mosima Mabelebele and Yolande van Staden, credited the award to dedication, craftsmanship, and the South African wine community. Bernard Fontannaz, the owner of Le Grand Domaine, echoed Thompson’s enthusiasm, praising her and the team for doing excellent work in the cellar.
