US President Donald Trump has revived his controversial travel ban, restricting entry from 12 countries and imposing tighter rules on visitors from seven others. Citing national security concerns following a recent terror attack in Colorado, Trump announced the ban would begin on Monday, June 9, aiming to avoid the airport chaos seen in 2017 when he issued a similar ban. The list includes several African nations, such as the Republic of the Congo, Chad, Eritrea, Sudan, and Somalia, as well as countries like Iran, Afghanistan, and Myanmar. Though Egypt, linked to the recent attack, is not on the list, Trump used the suspect’s visa overstay to justify the move. Critics argue the sweeping policy revives discriminatory practices, while supporters view it as a strong stance on immigration control.
