Türkiye’s exports to Africa reached $13.3 billion in the first seven months of the year, up 12.6% from the same period last year, driven by expanding logistics networks and construction investment. July exports alone rose 16.3% to $2.3 billion. Exports to Egypt, South Africa, and Nigeria posted particularly strong growth, while exports to Morocco and Algeria declined. Business leader Osman Aksoy attributed the momentum to sustained commercial diplomacy, expanded Turkish Airlines routes across the continent, and major infrastructure projects including roads, ports, and airports. He urged Turkish firms to pursue local production, joint ventures, and flexible financing to capitalize on opportunities under the African Continental Free Trade Area, while tailoring strategies to each country’s specific strengths, from Nigeria’s market size to Libya’s energy and infrastructure needs.
