South African singer Tyla has claimed her second consecutive Grammy Award for Best African Music Performance, defeating a star-studded lineup that included Nigerian heavyweights Burna Boy, Davido, and Ayra Starr. The 24-year-old’s track “Push 2 Start” triumphed over the competition, repeating her 2024 victory with the global hit “Water.” Despite Nigerian artists dominating three of the five nominations and Afrobeats’ worldwide popularity, none took home the coveted trophy.
