Kenya is hailed as a global model for grassroots peacebuilding, successfully managing the outbreak of violence within its borders. The model is rooted in decades-old local initiatives like the Wajir Peace and Development Committee. These citizen-led efforts became institutionalized after the 2007–08 post-election violence, leading to a national peace architecture that now connects state and non-state actors across society.
