A contemporary African-inspired house featuring large glass windows, wooden design elements, and a lush garden setting.
A modern treehouse was the starting inspiration for a stunning home in Betty’s Bay, a town within South Africa’s Western Cape. Wanting a sense of whimsy, the owners opted for an undulating house on stilts, which is entered via an enchanting footbridge through the treetops. While the owners’ aesthetic preferences have an undeniably Mid-century Modern flavour, local furniture makers slotted in perfectly, too. The interiors were kept deliberately neutral, in the tonal range of the outside forest.
