Overhauling South Africa’s Ports 

President Cyril Ramaphosa says the private sector will be stepping in to help Transnet resolve the issue of congestion at the province’s ports. He met with officials in Richards Bay after Transnet suspended the movement of coal trucks into the port due to road congestion. Trucks have been waiting to get into the port for days. However, the president says through collaboration he hopes to see significant progress by next year.
