A Year Into the War, Sudanese Artists Are Building Communities of Care in Nairobi

Since the beginning of war a year ago, Sudanese have been fleeing the country in search of safety and opportunity. Given cultural similarities, the most popular destination has been Egypt, but the reception to creatives hasn’t always been warm. In contrast, Nairobi is proving to be a far more welcoming city in which Sudanese artists are being given the chance to thrive.
