The move was announced on December 18, 2024, by spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu. According to reports, the team is saddled with the responsibility of collecting evidence on corruption cases and laying the foundation for the reclamation of stolen state resources. The team’s establishment reflects Mahama’s commitment to fulfilling a vital campaign promise to prioritize accountability and transparency. The team includes former Auditor-General Daniel Domelevo and lawyer Martin Kpebu, highlighting a robust and comprehensive approach to combating graft. Mahama’s agenda includes enforcing strict consequences for public sector mismanagement and reducing wasteful spending. By activating ORAL during the transition, he signals a resolute commitment to restoring trust in Ghana’s institutions and ensuring the responsible management of public funds.
