Gout Gout, a 17-year-old Australian sprinter, is quickly becoming a global sensation after breaking multiple records in the 100-meter and 200-meter sprints. Hailing from a South Sudanese family in Queensland, Gout’s talent was recognized early by his school coach, Diane Sheppard. Since then, he’s dominated Australia’s age-group championships, and in 2024, set a U16 200-meter record with a time of 20.04 seconds, surpassing Usain Bolt’s previous record. His rapid rise has drawn comparisons to Bolt, especially after his record-breaking 200-meter wins. Now, as he continues to improve, Gout is eyeing a potential debut at the 2025 World Athletics Championships. Despite his records, Gout wants to run even faster. If his progress over the past few years is any indication, his goal is definitely achievable.
