Sankofa Nite takes place on 28 March in North Johannesburg at Democracy Bar. The 200-capacity gathering will feature a curated musical progression moving from Soul Piano and Kizomba into Afrobeats, Dancehall, Afrohouse and a high-energy Gqom close.
A key element of this edition is the collaboration with Baila Afrika, who will lead structured dance activation and crowd engagement throughout the night. Their involvement reinforces the event’s focus on participation rather than passive spectating, bringing Kizomba and Afro-rooted movement into the centre of the floor.
The night will also feature live Afrobeat instrumentation, adding a layer of live rhythm to the DJ-led experience.
