Archaeologists have uncovered over 1,000 decorated stone blocks from Queen Hatshepsut’s Valley Temple in Luxor, alongside the tomb of Queen Teti Sheri, grandmother of Pharaoh Ahmose I. Led by Zahi Hawass, the team unearthed the blocks, part of the foundation wall of Hatshepsut’s demolished 18th dynasty temple, showcasing vibrant and detailed scenes. A limestone tablet bearing the name of Hatshepsut’s architect, Senmut, was also found, further validating the tomb as the pharaonic queen’s. Nearby, Queen Teti Sheri’s tomb, a simple rock structure with painted red murals, was also discovered. Teti Sheri’s grandson, Ahmose I, liberated Egypt from the Heka Khasut, a group of nomadic people who invaded and ruled the kingdom from approximately 1655 to 1570 BCE.
