Institutions like Zeitz MOCAA and the Norval Foundation anchor the contemporary art landscape, while the Investec Cape Town Art Fair, Africa’s largest, and monthly First Thursdays art walks keep the calendar dynamic. The Time Out ranking drew on surveys of roughly 24,000 people across more than 150 cities, supplemented by editorial expertise. With new immersive digital installations like LUMENOCITY and popular venues like The Labia Theatre, the Western Cape capital continues to cement its status as a leading global cultural destination.
