Kenya will double down on tourism with a campaign to attract more visitors to the country, according to President William Ruto. Ruto unveiled this plan while launching a global livestream of the iconic Great Wildebeest Migration in the Masai Mara. He announced that the campaign will seek to attract five million tourists to Kenya by 2027. Ruto urged tourists, both domestic and foreign, to take advantage of Kenya’s numerous attractions. He highlighted Kenya’s rich biodiversity, cultural heritage, and conservation successes, pitching the country as a hub for adventure, innovation, and sustainable travel. The Masai Mara, a highlight of Kenya’s appeal, hosts over 400,000 visitors annually, especially during the awe-inspiring migration. With tourist arrivals rising 15% in 2024 and earnings climbing to $3.5 billion, the momentum is strong.
