Taghazout, a Moroccan surf village to the north of Agadir, has been ranked as one of the trending destinations for travelers in 2026, according to Tripadvisor. The list reflects destinations that Tripadvisor’s community of travelers is increasingly interested in visiting. Taghazout is the only African destination on the ranking, which is dominated by European cities. Taghazout, initially an ordinary fishing village, began gaining popularity in the 1970s when it was discovered by surfers who coveted its incredible right-hand breaks. The village has since evolved into a world-class destination, replete with yoga retreats, relaxed cafes, and a growing boutique hospitality scene. Pair this with Morocco’s wider tourist offerings and growing popularity, and you will begin to understand why it is a hotspot for travelers.
