Natural African sights everyone should see

Africa has lots of popular tourist attractions, such as the pyramids of Egypt and East Africa’s Serengeti migration. However, the continent is also blessed with some lesser-known but equally beautiful sites. One of these is the Namib Desert, which has a high humidity level because of its proximity to the Atlantic Ocean, even though it is one of the driest places on Earth. There is Senegal’s Lake Retba, near Dakar, which is renowned for its pink waters, and we don’t mean that figuratively. The phenomenon is caused by an algae that is abundant in the lake, although this doesn’t make the sight any less impressive. Yet another African sight that deserves a mention is Lake Natron. Located in Tanzania, the lake’s waters appear blood red in the sunlight. While this is impressive on its own, what is even more remarkable is the thousands of flamingos that congregate in the lake during breeding season. Beyond these, there is the fairy circles of the Kalahari grasslands, as well as the Danakil Depression of Ethiopia. These sites, alongside others, make the continent a fascinating place to explore.
