The Senegal Football Federation has moved to correct misinformation surrounding a widely shared video showing players undergoing security checks ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The federation said online reports incorrectly suggested the screening occurred after the team arrived in San Antonio, Texas. Instead, the checks took place before departure from Raleigh, North Carolina, on June 7. According to officials, the delegation traveled directly from its hotel to the aircraft via a special transport arrangement, allowing players and staff to complete security procedures at the plane rather than inside the airport terminal. The federation emphasized that all measures complied with airport regulations and that no unusual incidents occurred. The clarification comes as Senegal continues preparations for the World Cup, which begins this week across North America.
