As US-South Africa relations sour, South Africa is preparing to propose a bilateral trade agreement in case its preferential access to the US market is revoked. The move comes amid growing concerns that the Trump administration may alter trade relations, potentially affecting South Africa’s position under the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA).
