At Africa’s Travel Indaba 2025, Zambia’s Tourism Minister, Rodney Sikumba, called for unity among African nations to bolster the continent’s tourism sector. Emphasizing the importance of showcasing Africa’s unique cultures, gastronomy, and traditions, Sikumba highlighted Zambia’s expanded visa-free access, now covering 167 countries, to facilitate easier travel. He proposed leveraging key flight hubs like OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg and Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi to enhance connectivity. With over 2 million visitors to Zambia last year, Sikumba aims to attract more African tourists by promoting personalized travel experiences across the country’s diverse provinces.
